Cancellation and Number Retention
Last updated: August 2026
Your number stays assigned while your account is active
Your CommonLine number remains assigned to your organization as long as your account is active. CommonLine does not sell or reassign your number while your account is in good standing.
Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you can keep using the service until then.
Payment difficulties
If a payment fails, we continue service for a short grace period (typically seven days) so a temporary card issue does not cut off your community. If the account remains unpaid after the grace period, new calls are paused while your number is retained for a further retention period (typically thirty days) so you can resolve billing without losing your number. If the account is still not restored after that, the number may be released.
Releasing your number
When an account is finally closed, the number is released back to the carrier. We cannot guarantee that a released number can be recovered or reassigned to you later.
